Sections overview

What is a section?

A section is a single step or screen within a class. Guests move through sections one at a time using the back and next buttons. Each section has a type that determines what the guest sees and does on that screen.

Section types

Every class has exactly one Check-in section (always first) and one Completion section (always last). Between them, you can add any combination of the following section types:

How sections work in the builder

Navigating sections

The section sidebar on the left side of the class builder lists all sections in order. Click any section in the sidebar to jump to its editor.

Adding a section

   In the section sidebar, click the + insert button between two existing sections.

   A type picker appears. Select the section type you want to add.

   The new section is created and you're taken into its editor.

Reordering sections

Click Reorder in the sidebar to reveal the Move ↑/↓ buttons, then use them to reorder a section. The new order saves automatically.

Duplicating a section

Most section types can be duplicated using the duplicate icon in the section topbar. A copy of the section is inserted directly after the original.

Check-in and Completion sections cannot be duplicated.

Deleting a section

Click the delete icon in the section topbar. Confirm the deletion.

Check-in and Completion sections cannot be deleted.

Section settings (title and body text)

Every section type has a title and optional body text. These are edited through the section header modal:

• Click the section title at the top of the editor to open a modal and rename the section.
• Click the body text area to open a rich text editor modal.

The rich text editor supports: bold, italic, underline, headings (H1, H2), blockquote, ordered and unordered lists, links, and text alignment.

Branch sub-sections

Branch sections can contain sub-sections — child sections that only appear for guests who selected a specific branch. Sub-sections are nested under their parent branch in the sidebar and are not accessible to guests on other paths.

Check-in

• Non-editable email capture field

Text

• Title and body text only
• Simple content-display section

Video

• YouTube video embed
• Optional timed prompts (questions shown over the video, which keeps playing)
• Title and body text editable

Form

• Click-to-reorder field builder
• 10+ input types available
• Data is saved per guest per check-in

Test

• Select the test type via section settings (DISC, Enneagram, or Spiritual Gifts)
• Questions and scoring are fully managed by OnArk
• Results are saved per guest

Branch

• Add branch options (choices) that the guest selects from
• Each option can route to the next section or to a dedicated sub-section (Text, Video, Form, or Test)

Completion

• Title and body text editable
• Add links to other classes ("Go to" recommendations)
• Cannot be deleted or duplicated

Common questions

Can I add the same section type more than once?

Yes. For example, you can have multiple Form sections or multiple Video sections in the same class.

Do guests have to complete sections in order?

Yes. Guests move through sections sequentially. They cannot skip ahead unless routed by a Branch section.

What happens if I delete a section that already has guest submissions?

The section is removed from the class builder, but previously recorded submission data for that section remains visible in the Guest detail view.
