Video sections

What is a Video section?

A Video section embeds a video into your class. YouTube, Vimeo (including unlisted links), and direct video files (.mp4, .webm, .mov, .m3u8) all work: just paste the link. Guests watch the video directly on the class page. Optionally, you can add timed moments — titles, callouts, lists, notes, questions, or fill-in-the-blank prompts that appear at a specific point in the video. The video keeps playing while a moment is on screen; it does not pause.

Setting up a Video section

Adding the video

1. 1
Open the Video section in the class builder.
2. 2

Click the settings icon (top left of the section) to open the section settings modal.

3. 3
Paste your video URL (YouTube, Vimeo, or a direct video file link) into the video link field.
4. 4
Save. The video player appears in the editor.

Supported URL formats:

• https://youtu.be/VIDEO_ID
• https://vimeo.com/VIDEO_ID (unlisted links with the privacy hash work too)
• A direct link to a hosted video file (.mp4, .webm, .mov, .m3u8)

Adding timed prompts

Timed prompts show the guest a question or message in a tray that slides out beneath the video at a specific moment. The video keeps playing while the tray is open — it does not pause.

How to add a prompt

1. 1
Play the video in the builder.
2. 2

When the video reaches the moment where you want a prompt to appear, click the Add Prompt at Timecode button (center of the navigation bar below the video player).

3. 3
A type picker appears. Select the prompt type.
4. 4

Enter the prompt text and configure whether to record the guest's response.

5. 5
   Save.

The prompt is now attached to that timecode and will appear automatically for guests when the video reaches that point.

Moment types

Fill-in-the-blank example: "Jesus said, ___ are the pure in heart" — the guest types their answer in the blank.

Navigating between prompts

While the video is playing in the builder:

• Click the left arrow to jump to the previous prompt's timecode.
• Click the right arrow to jump to the next prompt's timecode.

Recording responses

When adding a prompt, you can choose whether to record the guest's response. If recording is enabled, the guest's answer is saved as a submission and appears in the Guest detail view under this section.

Managing prompts

To edit or delete an existing prompt:

1. Use the arrow navigation to jump to the prompt's timecode.
2. The prompt editor appears below the video player.
3. Make your changes or delete the prompt.

What guests see

Guests see the video player and can play, pause, and seek as normal. When the video reaches a moment's timecode, a tray slides out beneath the video showing the moment's content — the video keeps playing the whole time. For a Question or Fill-in-the-blank moment, the guest can respond in the tray without interrupting playback.

Common questions

What happens if a guest skips forward past a prompt timecode?

The tray will still show the prompt at that timecode even if the guest seeked past it, without pausing the video. Prompts are triggered based on playback position.

Are guest responses to prompts saved?

Only if the prompt has the record option enabled. If recording is off, the prompt appears but no data is stored.

Can I add prompts without a video link?

No. The video link must be set before prompts can be added, because prompts require a timecode from the video.

Do video prompts work on mobile?

Yes. The video player and prompts are responsive and work on mobile devices.

Why don't Note, Question, and Fill-in-the-blank prompts show in fullscreen?

This is by design. These three open in the tray below the video, and fullscreen shows only the video. They ask guests to read or type while the video keeps playing, and a text box over the video would cover what they're watching. On phones and tablets the keyboard also takes over most of the screen and often knocks the video out of fullscreen anyway. Title, Callout, and List moments appear over the video, so they do show in fullscreen. If a guest is in fullscreen when a tray prompt comes up, they can exit fullscreen to see and answer it. iPhones have no fullscreen button, so guests there always see the tray.

Can I use videos from platforms other than YouTube?

Yes. Vimeo links (including unlisted links) and direct video file links (.mp4, .webm, .mov, .m3u8) both work.

Can I upload a video file to OnArk? Is there a storage limit?

OnArk does not store video files, so there is no storage limit and nothing to upload. Host the video on YouTube, Vimeo, or your own file hosting, then paste the link into the Video section. It plays inside the class page.

How do I save a guest's answer to a video prompt?

Guests click the check mark (or save button) next to the answer box to save their response for that prompt. For data you need reliably from every guest, use a Form section with required fields — those are always saved on submission.
